Festival

Klassik Open Air takes place in Luitpoldhain park, 90478 Nuremberg, near the Meistersingerhalle.

As with all major events, a very high volume of traffic is to be expected when travelling to and from the event. If possible, please refrain from travelling by car and use public transport or bicycle. In any case, the organisers recommend that you allow sufficient time for the journey there and back. This way you can enjoy the concerts in a relaxed manner.

Parking

If you are travelling by car, please follow the instructions of the dynamic traffic guidance system. It will guide you to the car parks. You should not use a navigation system, as this does not take into account (short-term) road closures and traffic jams or occupied car parks.

Bicycle parking (free of charge) can be found on the street "An der Ehrenhalle", at the "Palazzo-Parkplatz" in Bayernstraße and in the park direction Meistersingerhalle.

Car parking spaces (subject to a charge) are available on the "Große Straße" and on Volksfestplatz. Parking spaces in limited numbers can be found at the Meistersingerhalle.

Parking spaces for people with disabilities are available in the Meistersingerhalle car park.

A note: Since July, there has been a new digital parking management system in the car park at the Meistersingerhalle, which now works without barriers and tickets. More information on www.meistersingerhalle.nuernberg.de.

Traffic concept

As tens of thousands of guests are expected to attend the events again, the police and VAG have drawn up a corresponding traffic plan, which will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. Visitors are requested to avoid the area around Luitpoldhain. The organizing project office in the Culture Division is appealing to concertgoers to use public transportation or bicycles if possible.

The following measures are planned in detail:

Bayernstraße between Schultheißallee and Frankenstraße will only be accessible on the southern lane (side facing the Volksfestplatz). It will therefore only be accessible from Frankenstraße/Münchener Straße. Bayernstraße will be closed to traffic coming from the opposite direction during this time. Traffic will be diverted (via Regensburger Straße – Scharrerstraße – Hainstraße – Münchener Straße to Frankenstraße). After the event ends, from 10:30 p.m., Bayernstraße will be completely closed in both directions until 11:30 p.m.
Barriers will be set up and monitored by security personnel to allow residents to access their neighborhoods. It will be possible to drive back to Münchener Straße via the turning loop on Schultheißallee. The street An der Ehrenhalle will be completely closed from the turning loop to Bayernstraße.

For a more detailed view, you can download the plan with the bypass options and access routes to the car parks as a PDF here.
